Information for Nannies

Our Process

Once we begin your job search, we will match qualified nannies who pass our background checks to families who are looking to hire candidates that best fit their needs. It's important to us that the job work not only for the hiring family, but for the nanny as well. To summarize the process:

• Nanny candidates fill out an application, references and questionnaire
• Candidates are met and interviewed by The Nanny Network
• The Nanny Network screens candiates and refers nannies for open jobs
• Family calls nanny for phone screening and personal interview
• Completion of Nanny/Family Agreement
• Completion of background check
• You now have your ideal nanny job!

Once we have processed your application, we will tell you about available nanny positions that would meet your requirements. You may be interested in one job, or several. The Nanny Network will refer you to the families you are interested in interviewing with.

After a family reviews your application they may call you to schedule an interview. Most families will meet you at their homes, but some will choose another location. If your initial interview goes well, you may be asked back for a working interview. This will allow for some additional interaction with the children and you should be paid for your time.

During the process of your interviews, we keep an open communication with you to help ensure your questions are answered. The Nanny Network will continue to make you aware of new opportunities as they come in until you have accepted a job.

More About Our Screening and Background Checks

Our basic criteria for a nanny is that he/she have two years of recent professional childcare references that can be verified, the ability to work legally in the US and in most cases have a car. Nannies are required to become certified in infant and child CPR and submit to drug testing at the family's request. Since each family has individual needs, we rely on the family to give us their own specific criteria on their "ideal" nanny, and then do our best to match nannies with their own "ideal" family.

• Comprehensive Application
  Nannies are required to complete an extensive application and questionnaire.
• Personal Interview
  The Nanny Network speaks directly with all nanny candidates - in most cases personally - and occasionally over the phone.
• References Personally Verified
  References are personally verified by The Nanny Network.
• Thorough Background Check
  Nannies are hired conditionally, pending the outcome of a background investigation, including verification of date of birth and social security number.
